How can I make a Poison Ivy costume at home?

I would like to make a Poison Ivy costume at home by attaching fake ivy and plants to a bra top or corset. What would be the best way to do that? Directions and pictures would be most helpful

I would like to make a skirt with ivy as well, but what should I use as my base?

I am wondering if I should buy green bases, or possibly dye the materials since it has been relatively difficult to find green corsets and bras. Any idea of where to find those?

You'll need a COTTON bra/corset because acrylic and other materials will NOT take the dye.

Frederick of Hollywood will have the corsets.

Vintage shops in your city/town normally sell corsets.

In nature colors are different, so make sure when you dye the stuff it doesn't look all the same.

Camouflage fabric can be helpful, I think that's what I would buy as a base. There are many types, and the colors can be from very soft, to very strong colors; I would choose the softest colors.

Silk vines can be attached by sewing them to the fabric, using safety pins, stapling them on, or using fabric glue to attach the leaves. I buy the vines a the "Dollar Stores", a lot cheaper than anyplace else. Any store with the name "Dollar" on it will sell the vines.

Have fun, and carry a bottle of "calamine lotion" or "Benadryl", people around you will need the itch lotions!
